Wow, its been a long time since I finished a card. This one is for Magnolia-licous April Mingle. The requirements included 2 ribbons, 3 flowers and 1 button. I included everything. I really like this one. I have been practicing my Copics techniques. I think I am improving; at least a little. I have a lot more Copics now that Kim over at Cutterscreek.com has been supplying them. Note: Free Shipping if you buy $25 worth of anything. Kims customer service cant be beat.
Ok, back to this Tilda Its called a buckle card. I found an example on ClaudiaRosas Pretty Pressings blog ( her cards are fantastic by the way). Claudia was kind enough to post the cutting directions and I was able to figure out the rest by trial and error...not too much error though. The face I always do the same. Tildas clothes are a mixture of colors. I did not have the exact colors I wanted so I just choose a few pinks and a few greens and mixed them with layering. The paper is SU and Bazzil card stock. My flowers are hand crocheted. I added a little stickles to Tildas dots on her bow and the smocking on her top. stickle Diamond Dust is what I have been using for her wings. This Tilda was a fun one to color. I just leaned about shadow shading..it makes her look like she is standing in her own shadow...makes since I think. I used C1 for the shadows and also shadowed around the entire Tilda. It seems to make her look more alive.

Great job Claudia. Love the colors and the layout
ReplyDeleteAs the recipient of this mingle card, I am in awe of it. I cannot believe that you hand crocheted the flowers too! Wow, this is an absolutely beautiful card!
